The Pro Video CVC-1805DC B/W Varifocal Dome Camera is a reliable and economical solution for most basic remote monitoring needs. This dome camera utilizes a 0.33-inch black-and-white CCD (charge-coupled device) sensor with a four to nine-millimeter varifocal lens. The CVC-1805DC provides 512-by-492 effective pixels at a high resolution of 420 horizontal TVL (TV lines). Extremely sensitive to light, this unit can receive a usable picture with a minimum illumination of 0.02 Lux and achieves a S/N (signal-to-noise) ratio of 48 dB or better. The Pro Video CVC-1805DC is constructed with a black-plastic base and transparent lined dome housing, and includes a standard BNC (Bayonet Neill-Concelman) video output. This unit runs on 12-volts DC power, and can operate in temperatures ranging from 14 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit. The CVC-1805DC comes complete with a built-in automatic electronic shutter with speeds ranging from 1/60 to 1/100,000 of a second.

About Surveillance Camera Technical Features
Lux rating is the measurement used to indicate how sensitive a camera is to light, and stands for the level of light reflected off a piece of paper by a candle from one meter away. Thus a sensitivity of three Lux would mean a camera could generate an acceptable picture of a piece-of-paper-sized object that was illuminated by the equivalent of three candles from one meter away. The lower the Lux level, the better the camera's ability to work in low-light conditions. The camera's resolution should be greater than or equal to the resolution supported by the system's recorder or monitor. The S/N, or signal to noise ratio, is an important measure of a camera's quality. A poor camera, low-light conditions or poor wiring causes "noise" which consumes processing power and disk space. A camera with a wide dynamic range is ideal, especially for recording areas in which both indoor and outdoor light are present. CCD (charge-coupled device) sensors provide high-quality images that are less susceptible to noise. CMOS (complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensors offer less image quality, but are usually more cost-effective and energy efficient.

A dome camera is one of the most common indoor security camera styles. Mounted on the ceiling, and often designed to be tamper resistant, dome cameras are designed to be visually appealing and more secure than other types of security cameras. A true dome camera enables a continuous 360-degree pan and 90-degree tilt operation, providing for extensive room coverage. One disadvantage of dome cameras is that they usually are not suitable for low-light conditions and must be used in well-lit areas.

Near the freeway in Tacoma, Washington. The Tacoma Dome is towards the middle-left, and the industrial area is behind that.

I did not add the purple pink colors with photoshop. I used two ND filters, and I've noticed that when I combine them the color goes more reddish.

Well, I woke up early, drove to this location I had scouted, and took photos on the basic setting instead of RAW. I think I'll start using a checklist so I don't screw up like that anymore. I've done the same thing before with ISO set to 1600 instead of 200.
